It looks like you guys have every part of the TF universes covered in your Virtual projects, but it looks like you missed one crucial continuity in this list - The Japanese cartoon universe.

Think about it, it fits in with the other stuff thats on order - Zone ended on only one OVA with no real end in sight. What if the adventures of Victory Saber, Dai Atlas, Sonic Bomber and the Micromasters on Planet Zone continued to it's natural end (as shown via the story pages as reference, but with other tales slotted in as well), followed by the Battlestars, Operation: Combination etc to bring it full-circle?

Your thoughts!  Smiley

well already workin on battlestars using the same principle as 3B, but all that comes after Victory, including Zone wouldn't be easy if you have no drawing skills since there's not that much material, especially about Road fire, the great generals or Six Combiners itself lacks lot of materials.  But as you say, it could be fun to see someone take the challenge and animate zone.

Well, that could certainly be interesting. One problem might be finding writers who could handle the Japanese writing and storytelling style. I recall that the Japanese based shows were very different from the American shows, and those differences went beyond simply having different names, personality, and colors for the various characters, but right down to core of the show, the nature of the story, universe and characters. Finding non-Japanese writers able to handle that style would probably be harder than finding those able to handle the Western style of story telling.

Still, if anyone who's not Japanese can do it, I'd imagine a website that translates and redubs Japanese shows would be a great place to start looking, and I'd definitely be interested in seeing, and maybe trying to contribute to, that project.

Now thats what I'm talking about!  Smiley

I had a long think about this:
Here's an idea for how we should go about it: work on the Series Bible, where we all sort out between us all where the show should go, how many stories, what characters to use and their backstories and characteristics etc. Then when all thats out of the way, work on the scripts around what would would've been decided for the Bible (The Takara Story Pages would be a good stepping stone for this). Worry about how we would actually bring the stories to life later. (Manga? Audio Stories? Cartoon? etc)

I think that should be true for the other projects as well.  Smiley

Dont you think everyone in this Virtual TF board is getting abit over there head? Way too many projects are being planned & I think we need to pick one at a time or something, Dont get me wrong I appreciate all of you're enthusiasm everyone but lets get serious here.

I have thought about it and I had a TF Zone project that I was gonna start that picked up from where the first ep left off but It never got on the rails because I kinda planned ahead and I usually do that with some projects, thats why they dont get any step near completion.

Still I am interested in seeing Zone & Battlestars animated, because the Japanese TF series is no where near complete and as for Op:Combination, that was pointless so leave that out of the continutiy.

Yeah, I know. I was thinking of Op:Com as more of a shoe-in in between the Battlestars storyline if it were to be made.  Smiley

At the moment in my mind, if there was such a thing where to be made around here, it would be more of a writing and idea pool instead of actual full-fledged production just to see if it can play out, so no jumping nessecary  Wink

Considering the only one I'm actively involved with it the S4 project, I wouldn't say I'm getting in over my head. I just think a Zone project could be an interesting one if done right. I never said anything about volunteering for it.

As I just said in my 'Vacation Notice" thread, I'm back.  A "Zone" series sounds good, but I'm not totally informed about Japan G1 stuff.  I know that after the single Zone ep, the Battlestars manga continued from it.  Were there Zone-toy-characters left out, that would have been on Zone, that also weren't in Battlestars?  Are we reformatting Battlestars for real?  I could use a little more info on things like that.

Zone continued it's storyline in the form of story pages in a TV magazine. When that finished, Battlestars continued straight from it in the same magazine (Using the Zodiac to revive Optimus Prinme and turn him into Star Convoy) there was also a manga published. TFArchive have the Battlestars pages and manga, but I once saw the Zone series translated on one of the other sites. Problem is, I can't remeber for the life of me where I saw it!

So, for Zone, making animated eps from the Zone mangas, and maybe some original stuff, then end the "virtual series" and have it lead into the Battlestars manga?  Sounds lilke a plan. Smiley

Other ideas I can think of:
Alternators: This has no storyline whatsoever, so we need someone to write one.
RiD continuation: Greboguru from ATT is doing something like this, an online-comic called "RiD: G2," and asked him if he'd like to do it for our group.  No definate "yes" yet.
Star Wars/TFs: Like Alternators, needs a story.
TFU & TFU Wreckers: Continuation of the comics, which continue from Primeval Dawn, using the same toy-feature pattern.  I loved these series, and it sucked when they got cancelled.

Not so much Alternators, but Binaltech in Japan had a storyline that told the characters' origins somewhat.

I'll carry on looking for those Zone scans (Battlestars is on the TFArchive, along with the mangas of most of the Takara TF series).  Smiley

What was the Binaltech story?

LMK how it goes with the Zone-search.

The Binaltech story was given in text form a piece at a time with the purchase of a Binaltech figure, with the short story segment usually featuring the new character purchased. It was designed to fit in with the Generation 1 story line. A rough summary/translation of the story can be found here:

Bugger. I've just spent the whole afternoon looking for those story pages, but still all I can find were the Battlestars and OP:COM pages. (A site called TFPulp claimed to have them, but when I got the site I found it no longer exists) I know I didn't imagine these!  Embarrassed

EDIT - Scrap what I said above, I've just found them on the Allspark. Look under "Hydra's TF Pulp" to find the fully translated pages (along with some other stuff that might interest you.  Wink
