TFCog is proud to announce the release of episode 5 of Beast Wars II, entitled "Galvatron Awakens!" Due to life getting in the way, we've been unable to maintain our pace for the past year, but we hope to increase this pace with 2009. It's been a while since the previous episode of this series and I may say this every time, but it won't take this long next time!

Megastorm is doing well for himself as Emperor of Destruction while Galvatron is in a deep sleep. The Maximals are losing battles and the Predacons are gaining ground. The question is... is Megastorm doing it for Galvatron or does he have more lofty goals in mind?

As always, you can download this episode from our website, TFCog.com. The high quality version is 175 MB and the low quality is 60 MB, both are in DivX format.

Feedback is appreciated! We'd like to thank everyone who has enjoyed the series thus far and hopefully this one as well!

I seriously didn't see this coming  a mile away and usually I hound at you over BWII releases.
I had so completely forgotten about this episode, that it was to the point that the whole episode was like new to me. I didn't really watch it when I did my lines cause I don't like to be completely spoiled so this was fun.

The mix was very different, and sometimes a change in mixing is always nice. I think I heard a sample of it over a year ago and it was different than what i saw but this was good.

Congrats to the cast after a year Tongue

I meant in this thread! Before I, you know, deleted everything.

But as far as a year ago... they're called unforeseen circumstances!

Excellent job. As always I'm deeply impressed by Megastorm, Brad Venable is the man.

Good work, Brandon! And good work to everyone who took part (Even the ones who forgot they took part!  Tongue )

Watched the episode and loved it - I've embed it onto my other site "Roddy's Place" here: http://roddysplace.forumarena.com/index.php?mforum=roddysplace

Will also spread the news to thetransformers.net next chance I get!  Wink

Which by the way thank you to Holly for stepping up to the plate and taking a swing for a home run. She did an excellent job with her role and I do hope to hear from her again.

Yeah, she did. You'll be seeing her again in Neo episode 12.

Well, what can I say? I think you pulled what's possibly the most dubious episode of the series so far and made it decent! Hats off to you, Brandon.

Holly took some getting used to, but that's mostly because I've been watching the first four episodes so much I'm starting to know them by heart. I do hope we'll get to hear her again!

It was nice to hear Frank Todaro again, it's been a while since he got a speaking moment on this character. He snores good, but he vocalizes in a more interesting fashion Smiley

James was solid as usual, and Brad did great, but the one that stood out the most, in my opinion, was Zach. Starscream's personification is possibly the steadiest and most consistant so far, I can't wait to hear him talk some more and be the "big baddie" next episode!

Is it me, or is the encode squished this time around? Like it was from a full screen source, but was encoded to widescreen format? The circular shapes look somewhat oblong to me.

Music wise, I've heard some tracks I hadn't heard before, so I'm probably gonna hound you for them later, Brandon. I know you tossed in some Unicron Trilogy, but there's some other stuff that sounds closer to Second's score, but that I know I've never heard before.

Sound effects, Dušan is consistent as always, and though the episode did have a few more G1 sound effects than regular, I think it only goes with him.

The one thing I would have liked to hear different is the Maximal's transformation sounds. Back when I played around with episode 6, Peter was pretty clear that he preferred to keep the G1 transformation sounds for the vehicular and mechanical transformations, whereas the Maximals had the more organic, anime-flash-twitters transformation sounds. I kinda missed those for the Maximals, but that's the only thing that made me go "Awww... oh well, not Peter's work."

Not that it was bad, it was just different, though not as different as Victory #24. I wish I'd have had those dragon screeches so that episode six' recap and flashback sequences of Galvatron could have been consistent, though. I guess it wouldn't be too hard to have Dušan revise the SFX track I did, for consistency's sake (even if I am rather fond of it), since he is going to be doing these much more than I am Smiley

Overall, for a "dusting off the tables" dub, it came out rather well! I enjoyed it, and that's all that matters in the end, right? How long 'till episode 6 is ready? Smiley
