I did talk to cypher sometime back when I took over HM's, that maybe we'd redub 1-3, not many characters were changed if I remember correctly, it'd be done in higher def than what was released and such. But, if Brenton had a meltdown then that kinda pisses on the pot for audio tracks unless Cypher has all his stuff before Vocals, and if the Actors involved still had their recordings (cept the ones that weren't involved till after 3) then we'd have a good portion done. It'd also help things come out consistent while I worked on Episode 6 and UP.

I'm fairly sure that, aside from the Grimbot VS Fyerman edits on the music of episode 1, the tracks I have for the French dub would work fine. It'd be a matter of finding the original voice track and slicing it up and synching it.

I think I have it somewhere on a back up, since I'm the one that did the voice track in english for that one. Some of the voices were with flange effects though, and the rest were kept clean, so it's definitely salvageable.

I know I did the voice track for episode 2, save for a couple lines. Odds are I still have that voice track around, but I'd insist on redoing Soundwave's voice effect with the more modern vocoder techniques that spawned from that original attempt by Grimbot. I know I have the French music and SFX, but they differ greatly from the UFP tracks. The SFX of the UFP were superior though, what with being Grimbot's work and all. Music well... it depends on your tastes. The French dub had stuff from the Headmasters OST and nothing outside of G1.

HM3 I was not involved with at all, so I could only provide a SFX track and music track from the French dub. Though if I remember right, the last half of the SFX were kinda iffy.

I've deleted all the voice material from HM4.

But seriously, the best thing to do would be to accept the voice tracks as they are right now, slice them up to resynch using the DAF's video encodes, and remaster that. Any voice you want to replace would have to be edited out and replaced with the new actor... though I honestly would feel bad about taking Bill's voice out for Chromedome. I love Zach, but Bill had that little thing that made it all that it was. And I'd leave Daniel with Frank's lines.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I'm thinking it'd be like redoing the thing from scratch. I really think time should be spent on the next episodes instead.

Between bumpers, were the same video segments used for English and French?  i.e. no shoots were cut out?  If that's the case, wouldn't you just have to sync each segment based on say the first character to speak?  All you'd have to do is pull the audio from the English video.  I don't think you need masters.  HM4 and 5 don't need any work, as they are in at least 480 resolution.

OP styles kept changing, you'd have to time for that, and the bumpers, screw the ED caps those kept changing and you don't need to time for that.

I don't think there was much left after that which would make all the episodes different from eachother.

Don't need to worry about HM4 voice track as we didn't have any changes from 4 and 5, just 1-3. But it's a pipe dream, just a pipe dream.

Hey, personally, I don't mind seeing it happen. I just can't put all the time needed on it. If someone wants to do it though... sure, why not? I can make a new encode of the French dubs' video.

the episodes are not in 320 anything I assure you. I made them in the quality that was best suited for the encode I had. this entire charade is dubious. these are fandubs if you don't like the quality then don't watch!. they are just FINE!!!  !
